Sacred Thorn Apple

Texas Native! Large, 5-9" trumpet-shaped flowers have strong fragrance. White to pale violet flowers from April to Oct. Known as Moonflower because the blooms open at night and begin wilting early in the next morning. Large blue-green leaves resemble nightshade. Seed pods are round and covered in spikes(see inset in picture). In NC Texas the plant will go dormant in the winter but grows back vigorously in the spring. Attracts Hawkmoth. Full/Part Sun. 1-5' Tall, 1-5' Wide.
