TEXAS NATIVE. Named for its peculiar behavior in the winter, the stem exudes water that freezes into fascinating shapes. River banks, open woodlands, and shaded woods are its natural habitat. White flowers bloom atop 4’ stems in autumn. The foliage is a larval host for the Summer Azure, Bordered Patch, and Silvery Checkerspot butterflies. Zone 6-8.
